Also, although a little newer, the DC3 is still flying in significant numbers, and I think the FAA has stopped bothering with a recertification process until they they start dropping from the sky...

Concerning the old plane; I believe an old Ford Tri-Motor from the 20's is also still flying, without major overhaul since then.
