New Nukes: Get the Goods
"The Bush administration is expected to announce next week a major step forward in the building of the country’s first new nuclear warhead in nearly two decades," the Times is reporting.

A hybrid design? So instead of fielding 2 new RRWs to keep both of our nuclear weapons labs alive, we're going to force them to share the revenue from one project?
As for the "partnership" between the White House and the new Congress, it may not be as unrealistic as one might thing. I used to handle defense procurement issues for the first couple of months of Jim Webb's campaign (as a favor to a buddy of mine) and Webb is definitely interested in bankrolling the RRW.
